Creating Hope
Creating Hope is a 3 days skills training program which teaches introductory and enhanced skills to community members. Participants chose their program and are taught by a facilitator from the community who is skilled in the trade.
Skills not only increase financial security, they also provide support to the community in areas of hygiene, self care, and food security, as well as emotional development.
The goal is at the end of the three days, participants have a marketable skill that they can use to promote economic security. To support this endeavor, each participant is given the tools, ingredients, and introductory business training for their craft to begin their social entrepreneurship.
Those who desire further training may apply for apprentice opportunities to to develop their skills. In addition the program, empowers individuals by establishing autonomy and valued support.
The World Bank says promoting good hygiene is one of the most cost-effective health interventions.
